bug quest v1.2


so last time i said the next update would also include the snail ending, but i got too eager to share the new content listed below :) that said, this is probably the biggest update this game will ever have!!!


NEW CONTENT!!

  • MUSIC!!! the game now has a full OST! some songs might be placeholders for now tbh but every area that is intended to have music has it :)
  • WORM ENDING!: you can now collect all 9 worms and see the worm ending!
  • NIGHTTIME AREAS: once you reach the sewers, you can visit the nighttime variants of the danger, rainy, cloudy, and sunny zones. going to these areas is required for certain endings, including the new worm ending! meet all sorts of new weird bugs that only come out at nighttime!
  • SECRET ENDING 1: the first "Secret Ending" as been added to the game! it's very sneaky to get so here's my hint: did you notice that the spiders' dialogue changes throughout the spider sidequest? maybe helping them will change the dialogue in other parts of the game too! and maybe you don't actually have to commit to the tea party with the spider queen...
  • ...and like last time, there are a few new NPCs in old areas and updated dialogue for others. there are also a couple new rooms and item pickups that will be used in future endings. consider it a teaser!

VARIOUS CHANGES:

  • fixed the spider queen's design! i forgot what spider anatomy looked like haha. this  is honestly the big reason i released this before finishing the snail ending, it just bothered me soooo much.
  • shortened the walk between the sewers and the bus stop. i liked the effect but it was soooo long. i think i made it better though. might do the same between the bus stop and the light zone, not sure yet! i also added a tunnel for the city side sewer entrance.
  • gave the worms unique designs. fitting for the worm ending addition!
  • fixed some typos, ugly dialogue boxes, and other graphical oddities.

COMING NEXT TIME:

  • FIX: the final room in the worm ending has intangible walls. 
  • FIX: two npcs in nighttime cloudy zone don't have dialogue. 
  • big focus on more nighttime danger zone npcs! it's not meant to be barren, i just got too impatient to finish it :)
  • SNAIL ENDING (for real this time!)
